3G services in India - Difference between 2G and 3G?

With 3G services one can have a faster connection for loading web pages, browsing internet, can have a better call quality, high speed of streaming video and audio online. Though 3G has its advantages than 2G it drains the battery life. So it is advised to use a mobile phone with a high battery life.
